Exclusive Find out how he feels about DiNozzo's exitByMay 18, 2016 1118 PMTagsMichael Weatherly Weighs in on "NCIS" FinaleWe might all be collectively mourning that surprising NCIS finale death today, but Michael Weatherly is extremely happy with the reaction to the way his character, Tony DiNozzo, was written off of the CBS hit last night after 13 seasons. "I am incredibly pleased," he told E! News on the red carpet at CBS' Upfront presentation the morning after his big exit, which Spoiler alert! saw the death of Ziva David Cote de Pablo. "I think we gave [fans] a very satisfying emotional journey, and it was very emotional for me." DiNozzo left the series in the season 13 finale after finding out that his love, Ziva, had died—but left behind a little girl she never told him about. "I feel very complete and I feel like the circle has been closed and I'm ready for a new adventure," he said of the way things ended for although Tony and Ziva might be gone from the show, they're still friends in real life. In fact, Cote de Pablo, who played Ziva on NCIS from seasons three through eleven, showed up to Weatherly's NCIS viewing party to watch his final moments. "Cote de Pablo showed up at the end and that was great to reunite with her," he told us. "Yeah, it was a beautiful night." Weatherly might be gone from NCIS, but he's not leaving CBS any time soon. He stars in the network's fall drama, Bull, based on Dr. Phil McGraw's early life as a jury consultant. Weatherly stars as Dr. Bull, a man who analyzes juries to help create defense strategies. And naturally, he's a ladies' man. Cotede Pablo'interview with Michael Weatherly Michael Weatherly is now the hero of “Bull” a hit not only in the US but also in France and many people around the world. Michael gave us an interview in New-York also announcing that he will be reunited with Cote de Pablo on screen soon which will be a dream come true for all the NCIS fans around the world. The season 2 of Bull » ended with your character having a heart attack. How sensitive was it for you to shoot that scene and how is season 3 going? Michael Weatherly I loved it. I have sympathetic pain in my back so as we were shooting the scene, I was actually having my back cease so some of the winzes were actually my pain. It was phantom pain that I was creating, actors are weird. I had a great time shooting it because I love the layers of Bull. Bull can be seen as an episode of television where there is crime, and someone is accused, and we figure out the guy and most of the time things end up well. And that can be satisfied in a nutshell. But the layers of characters and what it’s talking about in terms of society today and why certain people are shut out from being helped whether it’s healthcare or some sort of bias that are racial or sexist or ageist, I think the idea of Bull having a heart attack is perfect. Because he is a man with an enormous heart who wants to help so many people, but he is a very lonely man who has no one to share his heart with personally. He is like somebody who works in a charity organization, they pour themselves into it and thy get nourished by helping thousands and thousands of people but they don’t have any one on one connection. This is Bull all the way even now as we shoot. We start season 3 of Bull and he is gone away, and he comes back and he has lost some weight, looks great but it’s surface. And as we move through the episode, we see he hasn’t done the work on his heart. His heart is fixed as a mechanism but not in the true figure meaning of it. You recently said that now being the lead , you realized how hard it was for Mark Harmon on “NCIS”. What did you notice that make such a difference? Michael Weatherly I’ll tell you a very interesting thing when you are number two or lower you actually know more information because when you are number one they don’t want you to know about things because whether it’s a legal liability or they just don’t want to bother you or they want to keep you in a bubble. I watched Mark tried very hard to stay out of that bubble and stay integrated, in touch and have the information. People want to isolate you to protect you. But that isolation can sometimes have the opposite, it actually creates an anxiety because you think “well I don’t know what’s going on”. And while you get anxious, behavior starts to happen when you aren’t as together as you should be. I’m working hard to stay together, don’t worry everybody laugh And that’s the less obvious part. The hours are incredible, the pressure to carry a show, knowing that if it fails you are in a large part responsible for that success or failure. In success I know it has nothing to do with me but in failure I would probably taking all the blame. Ultimately it feels you have less leg room as a character because there is a certain hero quality you have to have, therefore you can’t be as complicated. Again, I learned from Mark Harmon that your job is to stay complicated and be rigorous with that. Luckily, we have a great writer Glenn Gordon Caron from Medium and Moonlighting. He makes sure that I’m very complicated. Much more complicated that I am in real life cause as you know Franck I’m a very simple person. You turned 50 this year. Apart from apnea, what are the major changes? Michael Weatherly Sleep apnea. I even get sometimes to work, and I have these little marks on the face from the little machine I have. I know it’s gruesome to know that I’m wearing some sort of contraption when I sleep but I do sleep better. I noticed the other day that I reached for the remote control and I had a little pop in my back, that’s just because I’m not stretching. Metabolism to this point has just slowed to like cold honey, it’s just you know when you’re pouring honey and it’s just cold and not coming at all. I think I’m running when I’m actually just fast walking. I say to people I’m going for a run and then it’s just a walk! But I still call it a run smile You are working with Cote de Pablo on a project ? Michael Weatherly Yes she’s been calling me all morning. There is a big meeting going on in LA about this project called MIA. It is set in Miami. We’re finding very soon if it becomes a pilot. We are producers and hopefully we will get to pop in it and act in it as well. It’s a lot of fun. It’s a very fast paced cop show with a female lead, detective show. Cela a dĂ» ĂȘtre intense Ă  jouer ?
NCIS January 8, 2016 For all of those wondering, it’s clear that Michael Weatherly is well aware what many “NCIS” fans want to see at the end of his run on the show The return of Ziva David in some shape or form. We’ve been an advocate for it in several articles already; we understand not everyone is, but our thought process is mostly just that it seems right to bring back anyone who had a significant impact on the Tony DiNozzo character, and out of the cast members no longer around she tops the list. She was there for eight years, plus Ziva is still alive. In a post on Twitter earlier this week, Weatherly joked that even his mom is now asking about whether or not Tony will leave with Ziva at the end of the season. We anticipate this being a thing for much of the next few months to come; everybody’s going to want to know, but we’re not sure if CBS will even announce it in advance if she does come back. It’s the sort of thing that would be of greater benefit to be a surprise while you are watching it to see her turn up, even if it is just for a brief cameo. Unfortunately, you still have probably at least four months to wait until you’ll see how Tony is written out of the show; the finale usually airs in May, and we don’t see that changing. What we do see is a larger promotional campaign around it than usual, mostly because it’s not often that CBS gets to celebrate someone who has been a part of their family as long as Michael. He will hopefully continue to work with them in some capacity in the future with his production company. We’ve already covered the Tony – Ziva angle in many forms over the past few days. Cote De Pablo NCIS cast Ziva David from 2005 to 2020. Cote Pablo has had an exciting acting career in the entertainment industry; you name it films, commercials, broadway, tv series, and the like. But her first breakthrough that got through her many milestones and achievements was her portrayal as the Israeli Mossad officer turned NCIS agent Ziva David, in the hit police drama series NCIS, from 2003 to 2013. Why did Cote De Pablo Leave? After 8 Seasons in the NCIS TV series that awarded her honors and accolades, you could wonder why Cote De Pablo still left the famous TV show; now, what was the reason why she left the show? Cote De Pablo left NCIS after Season 13 due to political reasons and disagreement with the script for Ziva David. She was invested with her character and out of respect for the growth and development of what she portrayed Ziva David as she left the show. In an interview around 2016, Cote gave the details on why she left the show after season 13; she said, “Because of the disagreement we had due to political involvement and a bad script for my character, I had to leave NCIS, unfortunately. Look, I have grown to love my character after 8 years of portraying her but when the moment came that the crew took a turn on her script and she wasn’t being treated with the respect and love my character deserved, I had to leave. The script involved Ziva to go back to Israel and turn her lovable and strong character into an unfortunate and miserable woman”, De Pablo shared. Ziva did “die” in the Season 13 finale of NCIS due to a mortar attack, but Ziva David made a surprise return three seasons later, specifically in Season 16 & 17 of the show. She faked her death and ultimately went to Paris with her husband, Tony DiNozzo played by Michael Weatherly, and her child, Tali, to live a comfortable life. Cote de Pablo and her onscreen partner, Michael Weatherly Age and Early Life Cote De Pablo was a modest person passionate about persevering a career in the arts and music industry. Before she got her celebrity name, Cote De Pablo’s birth name was Maria Jose de Pablo Fernandez. She was born on November 12, 1979, in the city of Santiago, Chile. When de Pablo was ten years old, her family moved to the States, specifically in Miami, to start a new life. There, her mother got a job in a Spanish television station, Telemundo. She went to multiple art schools such as Arvida Middle School and later studied musical theatre at New World School of the Arts. Until later, she finally settled in Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania. De Pablo graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Acting & Musical Theatre in 2000. Moreover, she left a legacy in her school, participating in multiple theatrical plays that started her passion for acting. Career Immediately after graduating from high school, Cote de Pablo moved to New York, where she started being independent and sustaining herself through her job as a waitress. After saving enough, she tried her luck in entertainment. She began in minor roles around the area in the public theatre of New York. She also did commercials and even small films until she landed two parts in two television series such as All My Children and The Education of Max Bickford. Later that time, she had bad luck in her roles as an actress. The first stint she had was when she was selected for a commercial with Volkswagen; she appeared in a Volkswagen commercial. Second, she was selected to be part of the cast of a short-lived television show on FOX, The Jury, which was canceled after just ten episodes. Later on, she was set to start her Broadway debut, appearing as Dolores Fuentes in The Mambo Kings, but again, the show got canceled after just a trial run staged by the crew in San Francisco. Cote de Pablo But in 2005, De Pablo finally regained her acting career and a good rebound from what she experienced, this being the actress that would portray Ziva David on the popular police-crime drama in the US, NCIS. This is the most significant role in her acting career that lasted for about 8 Seasons before finally leaving the show. The performance she showcased as the Israeli Mossad officer, Ziva David, became a way for her to bag her first major award, the Imagen Award for Best Supporting Actress, in 2006. Later on, in the same role, de Pablo earned another two rewards The Alma Award and ANOTHER Imagen Award, for outstanding actress in a drama television series and best supporting actress, respectively. With his famous role as Ziva David in NCIS, de Pablo’s net worth skyrocketed to $8,000, in November 2021. This is the result of Pablo’s hard work sustaining herself to become who she is now. She’s established herself as a notable actress and singer with the help of her talent and brilliance on set. Cote de Pablo as Ziva David on NCIS Height and Measurements. CBS It's the end of an era. NCIS is set to say goodbye to Michael Weatherly this season as the star is set to exit the CBS drama after 13 seasons. But the question now is HOW Tony DiNozzo will leave the show...and if Cote de Pablo will return to as Ziva for his sendoff. CBS president Glenn Geller took the stage at the 2015 Winter TCA Press Tour to field reporters' burning questions about Weatherly's exit. "They are working on how Michael's character is going to be written out," Geller said of NCIS' creative team. "Gary [Glasberg] and the producers are working on that right now." Sonja Flemming/CBSBut will Tony and Ziva ride off into the sunset together? Sadly, when asked if there are plans for Cote de Pablo to return to the CBS drama, Geller said, "not currently." Admitting he and his mother! will "definitely miss" "Very Special Agent" Tony DiNozzo, Geller said he "completely" understands Weatherly's choice. "His decision was his," he explained. "It was a creative one. He was in the role for 13 years and I completely understand that and wish him well." The actor confirmed his exit earlier this month on Twitter. "DiNozzo is a wonderful, quixotic character & I couldn't have had more fun playing him over the past 13 seasons." He also shared his gratitude for the cast, crew and dedicated fans who made his experience great, writing, "I will miss the amazing crew & cast, who are like family to me, & to the fans all over the world - THANK YOU, it's been a fantastic ride!" CBS also confirmed Weatherly's exit in a statement to E! News, saying, "He is a valued part of the CBS family, and the immense charm and talent he brings to the screen as 'Very' Special Agent Tony DiNozzo has helped make NCIS what it is today—the No. 1 drama in the world. We thank Michael for all of his contributions to this successful franchise and look forward to continuing to develop projects with him as part of our ongoing development deal."
